The Secret of Paul's Power

The Secret of Paul's Power is simple. 

 He was a chosen vessel of Jesus to bring the Light of Life, to us gentiles.  Paul records that Jesus talks to him.  Jesus appeared in blazing glory to this man as he was going to Damascus to imprison and stone followers of the Way, that is Jesus.

  The glorified Lord threw him to the ground, blinded him and said:  I AM JESUS WHOM YOU ARE PERSECUTING.  NOW GET UP AND STAND ON YOUR FEET FOR I HAVE SHOWN MYSELF TO YOU FOR A REASON- YOU ARE CHOSEN TO BE MY SERVANT AND WITNESS TO WHAT YOU HAVE SEEN OF ME TODAY, AND OF OTHER VISIONS OF MYSELF WHICH I WILL GIVE YOU.  ... I NOW SEND YOU (TO THE GENTILES).  I SEND YOU TO OPEN THEIR EYES, TO TURN THEM FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT, FROM THE POWER OF SATAN TO GOD HIMSELF, SO THAT THEY MAY KNOW FORGIVENESS OF THEIR SINS AND TAKE THEIR PLACE WITH ALL THOSE WHO ARE MADE HOLY THROUGH FAITH IN ME." What did Paul do after that Divine encounter?  Fasted.  Just think, Paul saw the  Son of God, face to face.   Paul knew what to do.  He immediately  fasted  for 3 days and nights. (Acts 9:9) He went on a super fast, no food or water.  He knew what to do in response to his life changing encounter with God.  We can learn a lot from from him.  

After 3 days Jesus sent Ananias to Paul.  Jesus healed Paul's blindness when Ananias  laid hands on him and prayed. The Holy Spirit came upon Paul at that moment.  He got up, ate and was baptized.  He immediately began to preach that Jesus is the son of God.   The world has never been the same since then.

Note:  I've never been on a fast without liquid.

 And I'd never recommend anybody to.  I think in this day and age it would be very dangerous for our health if we did.  Toxins and chemicals are released from the cells during fasting.  We have to have the liquids to wash them out of our systems.   Back in Paul's times the physical bodies were much stronger and not exposed to the destructive chemicals of our day.  We have to be wiser in how we fast today.  But its not hard to do.  The devil has tried to strip power from the Church of God, the Body of Christ,  by trying to disable fasting.  But the enemy won't succeed.  FOR HE WHO IS IN US (JESUS), IS GREATER THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD (SATAN.)  (John's Epistles)

The Great Queen Esther

The great Queen Esther saved her entire people through a fast.

 An edict had gone out to slaughter every Jew alive.  It was a situation that could have been similar to what was happened in the holocaust.  But, the Queen fasted.  And God in heaven heard her heart's cry. He moved mightily in response to this wonderful woman of God.

 Queen Esther and her people fasted for 3 days without food or water.    They were threatened with utter annihilation.  Their very existence was in japordy, hanging by a thread. But, God had her born for  such a time as that. She determined to fast and pray, and called all her people with her.  And they did.  They didn't eat nor drink for 3 days.  We know the outcome.  God moved mightily through their prayers and spared her people.  The Jews, instead of being annihilated, lived .  The Jewish race eventually brought forth the Savior of the World, Jesus of Nazareth.  The power of prayer and fasting is unfathomable.  Because God in heaven hears, and changes world events.

 I think we can learn a lot from the great Queen, don't you?  (Esther 4:16)  You and I were born for a time such as this.  The Bible says that these end days are "perilous times".  BUT REALIZE THIS, THAT IN THE LAST DAYS DIFFICULT TIMES WILL COME.  (2 Tim. 3:1 NASB)  We need to pray and fast more than ever before. When we are threatened with tragedy, pray and fast.  May God help us.

You and I were born for a time such as this.  May we seek God's face.   SO WHENEVER WE ARE IN NEED WE SHOULD COME BRAVELY BEFORE THE THRONE OF OUR MERCIFUL GOD.  THERE WE WILL BE TREATED WITH UNDESERVED KINDNESS, AND WE WILL FIND HELP.  (Heb. 4:6 CEV)

Weight Loss- Be Even Healthier

 And helps us be healthier.  Don't we all need that.  My beginning weight is 149.8 on March 6, 2014.  Let's see how it goes... down is my desire.  My health is average.  Let's see how it goes..... up I hope.  I'm 60 years of age.  Even us middle age people, and seniors can renew their strength.  BUT THOSE WHO HOPE IN THE LORD WILL RENEW THEIR STRENGTH.  THEY WILL SOAR ON WINGS LIKE EAGLES; THEY WILL RUN AND NOT GROW WEARY, THEY WILL WALK AND NOT FAINT.  (Is. 40:31 NIV)

  I never do strict water fasts.  Our bodies in this day and age are very compromised with environmental toxins, food additives, chemicals, etc.  Therefore it is much more important that we do drink plenty of healthful liquids.  The easiest one I like is filtered hot water, with a squeeze of lemon or lime juice.  Makes the water tastes great.  The citrus is antifungal, antibacterial, and most importantly anti vral.  It also serves as a blood purifier to alkalize our systems, which we desperately need in this day and age.  You and I can actually be healthier as we learn to fast consistantly.  Keep posted for more health tips.  Whatever you do don't drink canned juices, or soda pop.  The sugar/ carb content is so high it trashes the pancreases and the liver gets overloaded.  Keep posted for more fasting tips which I've learned through many years of study and fasting. 

Make a low carb vegetable broth and sip on it all day.  Yesterday I used  lima beans, with spinach.  Next time I'm going for cabbage!  Will see.  Keep up a variety of veggies, organic is best.  Simmer the broth all day.  Sip all day long, you will be infused with healthy minerals, vitamins, and phytonutrients.  It's very healthy.  Don't use canned broth if you can avoid it.  Throw away the pulp, because the nutrients are now in the liquid.  It's so easy.

 Today is Friday March 7, 2014.  I have undertaken to pray and fast one day a week til the first Friday in November; 9 months.  This was undertaken to add considerable prayer power to the success of the KI Resident Study Program.  I see the RSP as a significant work of God in these last days.  Jesus is pouring out new wine.  Jesus has given Chuck Missler,  Ron Matsen  and the Body of  Christ new wineskins at River Lodge in my personal opinion.  My prayer is that Jesus equip many for the work of the ministry with power at RSP New Zealand.

Of course I'm praying for other needs as well.  And I would like to undertake longer periods of fastings at some time. It is my hearts desire.  I pray that Jesus empower me.  But, I will work up to longer fasts gradually.

Fasting is a spiritual discipline that has tremendous effects.  Unfortunately it is sadly neglected in the body of Christ today.  If we can but return to our Lords command that:  "..THEN THEY SHALL PRAY AND FAST".  (Gospels) Also Jesus says, "COME APART WITH ME.."  (Gospels)  Then, we would see the power of God blow open the doors of heaven in answered prayer!

I'm off to an amazing start.  While seeking direction the Spirit of God told me to start a Fasting Blog.  He has even given me the first 7 posts.  Well, I'm off and running.  May I please you Jesus.  I hope you and I both learn a lot from this blog.   May God empower you to fast and pray.  May He answer your prayers powerfully.  Amen.

 God honored her highly.  God chose her; she was made the first messenger of the Incarnate Messiah, baby Jesus.  When she saw the Babe in the Temple, she .."BEGAN TO  THANK GOD AND TO SPEAK ABOUT JESUS TO EVERYONE WHO WAS WAITING FOR THE REDEMPTION OF JERUSALEM. (Lk. 2: 38b ISV)  What a woman.  I aspire to be like her.  She knew the power of fasting.  The Holy Spirit guided her footsteps and spoke to her. She had eyes to see the Redeemer, even as an infant.  What a woman.

Prayer, fasting, and worship will give us even more power.  God will open our eyes to see even more.  I WANT TO KNOW HIM (Jesus) , AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION... (Paul's Epistles)  To see Him is my hearts desire.  One night, when I was very ill, it was as if Jesus's Spirit said to me:  "Worship Me- that's where the power is."  Jesus has given me THE GARMENT OF PRAISE INSTEAD OF A SPIRIT OF HEAVINESS. (Is. 61:3c Darby  He has even healed my body, once again.  All praise to Him, our Great Healer.

Today's the beginning of a 9 month commitment to our Lord.

 The commitment is to pray and fast every Friday, God willing.  I chose Fridays so I could rest up and do Bible study on Shabat, Saturday.  At times I would like to do 3 day fasts, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  I seek God's power and Jesus' blessings as I undertake this to get some prayer power going!!

This was a 24 hour fast.  From dinner time last night until dinner time tonight.  It was actually very easy.  What are my secrets?  Worshipping Jesus with music in my home.  Scheduling this day specifically for fasting and prayer.  A day set aside, no appointments, etc.  A day of fasting dedicated to seeking the hand of God in heaven to move in answer to great needs, personal, for others, and for RSP.

I got up this morning and watched Chuck Missler on Isaiah, chapters 40 to 45.  He makes Isaiah so easy to understand in the new Isaiah commentary with the ISV translation of the Great Isaiah Scroll, Dead Sea Scrolls.  Dr. Peter Flint did the translation.  Of course, prayer too. Then, dinner out with a friend who had a miracle and is alive and functioning today, even though the doctor said he'd be dead 2 months ago.  Dinner included more prayer and rejoicing.

On a physical level my secrets are: 
* Lots of water
* I add lemon juice for greater cleansing of the blood, alkalizing, and antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, ets.
* A clear broth made from simmered lima beans and spinach. The lima beans alkalize the system.  The broth of spinach helps keep the bowels moving.
* 1.5 quarts of a green drink made with powdered barley grass juice mixed with water.  Keeps the nutrition up, liquids up, supplies minerals, vitamins, chlorophyll (a blood cleanser), and living enzymes.  It is low in sugars.  Very healthy.
* A coffee colonic to clean the liver and bowels of the toxins released during fasting.

And I'm good to go, makes fasting a breeze.  But, here is the ost important secret.  It is God who makes it possible to fast.  Without Him we can do nothing.  So, when undertaking a fast, the first thing to seek is the empowerment from Jesus. ".. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD,"says Jesus.

Ezra's 3 Day Fast

God chose Ezra the scribe and close to 50,000 Jews to go and resettle Jerusalem after the Babylonian captivity.  They were ready to take a deadly and perilous journey from Persia (Iran) to Israel.  The King, Cyrus,  told Ezra to take a large armed guard of professional soldiers to make the trip. The trip was extremely dangerous.  Ezra was  carrying the temple gold, treasures, silver and had many women and children and livestock. They were easy pickens for thieves.

But Ezra refused the soldiers.  Why?  Ezra was too embarrassed to accept them.   Ezra relied on the Lord God of Heaven instead.  How?  Through prayer and fasting.  Ezra writes:  THEN I CALLED FOR A FAST THERE AT THE AHAVA RIVER SO WE COULD HUMBLE OURSELVES BEFORE OUR GOD AND SEEK FROM HIM AN APPROPRIATE WAY FOR US AND OUR LITTLE ONES TO LIVE , AND HOW WE SHOULD GUARD OUR PERSONAL WEALTH, BECAUSE I WAS ASHAMED TO ASK THE KING FOR A CONTINGENT OF CALVARY TO PROTECT US FROM ENEMIES WE MIGHT ENCOUNTER ON THE WAY.  AFTER ALL, WE HAD TOLD THE KING, "THE HAND OF OUR GOD SEEKS THE GOOD OF ALL WHO SEEK HIM, BUT HIS POWER AND ANGER ARE AGAINST EVERYONE WHO FORSAKES HIM."   SO WE FASTED AND ASKED OUR GOD ABOUT  THIS, AND HE LISTENED TO US.  (Ezra 8:21:-23 ISV)  When Ezra arrives he records: OUR GOD'S PROTECTION WAS WITH US.  AND HE DELIVERED US FROM THE ENEMYS' POWER, AND FROM AMBUSH ALONG THE WAY.  (Ez. 8:31b)

How much do we all need protection for us, our families, and our personal wealth?

We all need deliverance from the enemys' power and ambush in this life.  The secret?  Prayer and fasting brings incredible victory. Just like Ezra and his people.  Why? Because the hand of our God seeks the good of all who seek Him.  PRAY WITHOUT CEASING.. (Paul's Epistles)
